Albuquerque Biking
Cyclists are out and about all over the scenic byways around Albuquerque, and Mountain bikers love this area for the hundreds of scenic trails and wonderful outdoors. The area includes rides around Albuquerque, the Sandia Mountains and the northern foothills of the Manzano Mountains or just west of Albuquerque is Petroglyphs National Monument where there are more great Albuquerque trails for mountain biking and hiking.
Hiking in and Around Albuquerque
There are so many great hikes around Albuquerque. The city is perfectly located for day trips in any direction. Hike in the Sandia's, the mountains that overlook Albuquerque on the famous La Luz trail or in the Manzano's, the El Malpias, the Santa Fe national forest and many more amazing places for adventurous Albuquerque hiking you won't soon forget.

Albuquerque Skiing and Snow Boarding at Sandia Peak
The Sandia Peak Ski Area is a quick 45 minute drive from downtown Albuquerque to the Back side of the Sandia Mountain, and it is fully equipped for a fun day on the slopes. Here you find Sandia Peak's certified snow sports school, a complete rental shop, skiers' cafe, and the Wintermill Ski Shop. For the more adventurous, Sandia Peak can also be access by riding the Sandia Peak Tram in the winter time.

Fishing at Tingley Beach and other Albuquerque Spots
There are some good places to fish around Albuquerque including Tingley Beach for trout and catfish, and Shady Lakes north of town. There are many other good Albuquerque fishing spots and fly fishing in New Mexico is actually quite good. Anglers can get out of town to the Chama River, Pecos and Jemez rivers and various reservoirs, just to name a few options.
