Celebrate the wild west and ranching traditions of northern New Mexico with the Taos Rodeo at the Taos Rodeo Grounds.
As northern New Mexico’s culinary center, food events in Taos provide local wine sampling, particularly during the Toast of Taos Arts & Wine Festival at the Taos Country Club.
Family events in Taos include the lively and colorful Fiestas de Taos, which takes place in July. Parades, food vendors, and a royal court celebrate the two patron saints of Taos, Santa Ana and Santiago.
The world famous Taos Solar Music Festival, held in Kit Carson Park, attracts nationally known folk, rock, and jazz musicians for an annual celebration of sustainable living.
For Taos romantic events under the stars, the Taos Chamber of Commerce sponsors free Concerts on the Plaza all summer long.
Fall Taos Annual EventsOld Taos Trade Fair, Martinez Hacienda in Ranchos de Taos: an annual look at frontier Taos.
The Taos Wool Festival at Kit Karson Park is a "must see" event for fiber lovers and craft lovers everywhere. The October annual event includes an outstanding regional wool market featuring juried vendors displaying their wool, fiber, yarns, and artistic creations, as well as live animals, demonstrations of fiber related skills, contests, kid's hand-on activities, workshops and food vendors.
SOMOS (Society of the Muse of the Southwest) celebrates the Story Telling Festival every October at Taos Center for the Arts. The festival offers an impressive lineup of tellers spinning their tales in concerts, children stories, a workshop, a story swap and in visits to our local schools.
Taos Fall Arts Festival celebrates the visual arts and artists in Taos County. At the Taos Convention Center, September – October.
Winter Taos Annual EventsSimilarly traditional is the Taos Christmas Eve Procession. The intertwining of Native traditions with the re-enactment of the procession of the Virgin Mary combine to make this a moving ceremony of bonfires and church bells, religious history and faith.
