Golf Course Yardage
Nestled in the Santa Cruz river valley of Southern Arizona, Rio Rico Country Club is truly a hidden jewel in Arizona golf courses. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior over 40 years ago, the course has matured into a classic. Fairways are lined with shade providing trees, there are no homes on the course, and the paralleling holes are grassed tee to green, no desert carries here. There are five sets of tees at Rio Rico, from the tips at almost 7200 yards to the new forward tees at just over 5000 yards the course sets up well to accommodate all levels of skill and length. Greens are bent grass and are some of the best in Southern Arizona. The infamous design style of Jones includes greenside bunkers and green contours that can create some difficult but accessible pin placements, put your approach in the right place and score well, be aggressive and miss the shot, you will pay the penalty.
Rio Rico offers some of the most affordable golf for a truly great golf experience.

The Santa Rita Grill and Patio overlooking #9 green is a spectacular setting for lunch, tournament scoring, or just settling the bet over a cold beverage.

Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses
Rio Rico has partnered with Audubon International to achieve certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary golf course. The ACSP helps golf courses to enhance wildlife habitats and protect natural resources for the benefit of people, wildlife, and the game of golf. One of the first initiatives was to install 12 (and growing) bird nesting boxes around the golf course. Bring your binoculars along with your golf clubs, there are over 40 species of year round and seasonal birds who call our golf course home.
