Corporate Team


James M. Long – Founder/CEO

James M. Long has founded numerous highly successful companies throughout his career including American Property, Heritage Hotels and Resorts, Inc. and Southwest Brands. The collective companies founded by Mr. Long employ several thousand employees. Mr. Long is also one of the leading cultural entrepreneurs in the State of New Mexico with a focus on cultural preservation and advancement. His personal interests in this area have expanded to include the non-profit sector, where Mr. Long has assumed significant leadership roles and raised several million dollars for such undertakings. Mr. Long was the Past President of the Board of the Spanish Colonial Society, an 87 year old organization based in Santa Fe. Mr. Long, was appointed as an International Trustee of the Prado Museum Foundation in Madrid in 2012 and is one of only three people to serve on this international board from the United States. He also founded the New Mexico Multi-Cultural Foundation to provide economic and other support involving the cultural heritage of New Mexico. Mr. Long is a native New Mexican whose family (Aragon) has resided in New Mexico for several centuries. He got his BA from the University of New Mexico in Architectural Design.

Adrian Perez – President

Adrian Perez has been active in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and is a graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Business. He began his hospitality career with American Property Management Company, a company co-founded by James Long in 1991 where he oversaw operations of 11 hotels within the APMC portfolio across the country. In 2001 he joined the Heritage Hotels and Resorts team as the General Manager of Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town, then a Sheraton hotel. In March of 2010, Mr. Perez was named President of the company where he oversees the company’s assets and day to day operations of Heritage Hotels and Resorts. Mr. Perez has been active on numerous boards throughout the community including the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau, the New Mexico Lodgers Association and the Association of Commerce and Industry.

Tina Marcelli – Senior Vice President

Tina Marcelli has been with Heritage Hotels & Resorts for over ten years. Before moving to the corporate role of Senior Vice President she was our Vice President of Operations and also was the General Manager of Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town. Tina works closely with our hotel, bar and restaurant operations teams to ensure top quality service is delivered to every guest at Heritage Hotels & Resorts. Tina also works closely with our Community Partnerships program to ensure all of our team members are well versed in the mission and cultural causes supported by Heritage Hotels & Resorts. 

Jason Cosyleon – Vice President of Design & Development

Jason started with Heritage Hotels & Resorts as an intern with a background in design and architecture. He was promoted numerous times and now as the Vice President of Design and Development he oversees all of the renovations and construction projects at Heritage Hotels & Resorts in New Mexico.

Molly Ryckman – Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Molly Ryckman has been with Heritage Hotels & Resorts for more than eight years. Most recently she was General Manager at Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town and was the previous Director of Sales. Prior to Heritage Hotels, Molly was in the sales department at the Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau.


 

 Cainan Harris - General Manager of Eldorado Hotel & Spa

Cainan started his career in Kansas City, MO with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts. His journey with the hospitality industry brought him to New Mexico in 2000 with the opening of a full scale resort and spa. His experience extends to both full service convention hotels and boutique properties in the southwest. Cainan joined the Albuquerque hotel management team in the summer of 2013 and enjoys selling a hotel that provides guests with an authentic local and culturally rich experience.

Glen Osburn - Regional General Manager of Hotel St. Francis and Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe

Glen started out his career in leisure facilities managing swimming pools, gyms, restaurants and bars, while also working as a Royal Lifesaving Society Lifeguard Instructor and Scuba Rescue Diver. He enjoyed the hospitality industry so much that he wanted to learn all aspects of the industry and work his way through all positions from front desk and housekeeping, to business manager, director of sales, director of operations and general manager. Many of Glen's roles have been as an impact manager, taking over underperforming businesses with the goal of turning them around.
After his land-based experiences, he took his career afloat and moved into the cruising industry working for "The Mouse" at Disney Cruise Line, with Royal Caribbean and Holland America Line, where he managed the Entertainment and Hotel Departments. He also worked as a customer service trainer for Disney Cruise Line. In 2011 he was honored for his exceptional service by being named "Cruise Director of the Year." He comes from London, England, but is happy to call Albuquerque his home.

Adrian Montoya - General Manager of Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town

Adrian Montoya returns to Heritage Hotels & Resorts following a career starting with a position as a bellman at Sheraton Old Town (now Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town) and followed a path through several leadership roles. With the company, he has served as Corporate Director of Operations, as General Manager of Hotel Plaza Real (now Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe) and as General Manager or Nativo Lodge. Most recently, he worked with La Fonda as Director of Guest Services.

Abraham Juarez - General Manager of El Monte Sagrado

Abraham Juarez as been a part of Heritage team since early 2014.  Abraham has spent over the last 18 years in the service industry. While fine tuning his bar tending & Mixology skills in Albuquerque he began managing some of the top bars and nightclubs in the city, and soon transitioned into fine dining.  After spending four years as the bar manager at one of the top restaurants in Nob Hill, he made the move to General Manager at another top restaurant in Old Town with a strong emphasis on spirits, mixology and wine. As part of the Heritage team, Abraham has worked through various markets throughout New Mexico, he has been a part of the transition teams for hotel acquisitions and now resides in Taos as the General Manager of El Monte Sagrado. 

Asia Golden – Resident Manager Palacio de Marquesa Taos

Asia Golden has over 20 years experience in the hospitality field. Her background is in art and education, and she has been educating art lovers for many years in Taos. She is an active community member of Taos and holds a wealth of knowledge of northern New Mexico. That knowledge is being used to help the guests of Palacio de Marquesa have a unique and memorable experience of Taos and the surrounding area. She also holds a personal chef certificate and enjoys creating local favors with a twist using organic vegetables from a coop farm she works on in her very spare time. She created a Farm to Table to Mountain series with local farmers hosting a three course all organic dinner in the summers at Taos Ski Valley. Asia is an avid skier and mountain biker, and she loves the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the awe-inspiring sunsets Taos offers each evening.  


 

Helga Byndas –  Director of Quality Control and Corporate Contracts

Helga Byndas has been with Heritage Hotels and Resorts since 2000. Her previous position within the company was as the General Manager for Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces. As an award-winning leader, she has held many positions in the hospitality industry, including Director of Sales, Revenue Manager and Front Office Manager. She currently resides on the board as the current treasurer of the New Mexico Lodging Association. Her community service to the industry also includes her activity within the Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce, sitting on the advisory panel for the LCCVB Spaceport committee.

 

Belia Alvarez – Director of Hospitality

Belia Alvarez is a native of Las Cruces, NM.  She has more than 18 years of hospitality experience. Most recently, she was the Regional General Manager of Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces and the Hilton Garden Inn. Prior to joining the Heritage family she spent 6 years as the General Manager of  the Hilton/Hampton Inn & Suites. Alvarez is a community leader who is very involved with many local organizations. Alvarez is the past Chair of the Las Cruces Convention & Visitor’s Bureau Advisory Board, served as Executive Director for the Miss NM USA Organization, a Miss Universe/ NBC Universal joint venture for the past 16 years, a current board member for the Las Cruces Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, board member for the New Mexico Hospitality Association and newly appointed Commissioner of Tourism by Governor Martinez. Alvarez has also received the following awards: the NM State LULAC 2014 Excellence in Public Service Recipient, 2012-Heritage Hotels & Resorts Leadership Award of Excellence, 2012 New Mexico Lodger's Association Administrator of the Year Recipient and the 2011 Hampton Inn & Suites Stand Out Ambassador-Selected by the Hampton Brand and The Marcus Buckingham Group.

Maresa Thompson – Senior Communications & Creative Director (AKA Corporate Cowgirl)

Maresa has over 18 years in the tourism and hospitality marketing industry. Prior to joining Heritage Hotels & Resorts she was at the Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau for 13 years. Maresa is proud to have contributed to national and international award-winning teams whose awards include HSMAI Adrian Awards Interactive Best in Show, WebAward, MarCom Award, and several others. In 2013 she was recognized by Albuquerque Business First as a Top 40 Under Forty in the most competitive applicant pool to date. Recognized as an expert in her field, she has presented at several local, regional and national interactive and marketing conferences. Maresa is a New Mexico native and received her BA in Communications & Journalism from the University of New Mexico.
 

Stacey Nash, PHR, CHRE – Corporate Director of HR Solutions and Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town Human Resources Director

Stacey has more than 20 years experience in Human Resources and oversees the employment aspects for Heritage Hotels & Resorts and our seven New Mexico hotels and our 12 bars and restaurants. Stacey has professional certificates of Professional of Human Resources and Certified Human Resources Executive. Stacey has a degree from the University of New Mexico and also teaches Human Resources courses at the University of New Mexico and also assists special needs students at Central New Mexico Community College. 

Anita Sahi - National Sales Director

Anita has been in the hospitality industry for more than 25 years. Her experience includes hotels in California (Los Angeles and San Francisco) as well as 13 years with the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau. Anita is bilingual with an extensive international background and experience.

 

Shannon Vallez Duffy - Business Travel Sales Manager

Shannon Vallez Duffy has been with Heritage Hotels & Resorts for over 12 years. Before moving to the corporate role of Business Travel Sales Manager she served in many capacities which include Catering Manager and Sales Manager at Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces.  Shannon is a New Mexico native and received her BA in Hotel, Restaurant Tourism Management from New Mexico State University. 

Liz Robinson –  Corporate Director of Branding & Events 
Liz, originally from Dallas, Texas, has lived in New Mexico for 17 years. She began working in the wedding industry while in college and holds a BA in mass communications from the University of New Mexico. Liz joined the Heritage Hotels & Resorts family when she became the Special Events Manager at Hotel Albuquerque in 2012 and has planned and managed over 400 weddings since joining our Albuquerque hotel management team. She now oversees weddings, events, brand strategy & design.  



Susan C. Moore - Marketing Strategist & Analyst 

As Marketing Strategist & Analyst, Susan Moore provides website and marketing campaign insights that allow the marketing department to assess initiative effectiveness. She also leads marketing efforts focusing on group sales across the portfolio as well as social media campaigns. Moore came to the Heritage Hotels & Resorts family in 2013 as the Interactive Marketing Coordinator following a five-year career as a local and political new reporter and editor in New York's Hudson Valley and New Mexico. In 2014, she transitioned into the role of Marketing Strategist & Analyst. She holds a master's degree from Columbia University's Journalism School and a bachelor's degree from Kenyon College.
